Revert

Revert

Few weeks before, after my Isha Salat, when I was moving out, I got approached by a man who asked,”I see you were not wearing cap while praying”.

No, I wasn't. Assalam Waalekum”, I said.
He looked quite happy when I greet him and replied,”Waalekumus Salam”.

He further said,”Me and my 5 friends accepted Islam 5 years ago. If you are free then can we talk?”
I said,”Yes”.

He looked shy in the beginning. I inquired about him and found out he was from one of the rich and prominent class of India. Even his house is situated in one of the costliest area of our city.
Both his children are bigger than me. He was bigger then my father.

I asked him how he entered into Islam?
He said, he entered by studying it.

He further asked me that he have seen Hajj videos and found that some people wear cap while many dont and if its necessary to wear it?
I have seen Dr. Zakir Naik lectures and in it he was asked similar question.
I said to him that its not necessary.

We talked about Islam for some time. He was one of the most knowledgeable person I have meet of Quranic Studies. He said he read Quran daily which I find most Muslims dont. He (pray) Salat more then the required amount.

He was so well learned about Quran that he quoted from its various Chapters while talking. I enjoyed talking with him.

He was a frustrated person. Frustrated because his old company now dont treat him well. They disagreed with his decision of accepting Islam.
He said even his son and daughter considered him crazy.

Today, like before, I met him after Isha Salat. He goes to another Masjid but came today due to some work nearby. He came to me and said that he have been watching Mayan History on Discovery Channel and it co-relates to a Quran Chapter.

We began talking again. He told me little about himself. He told me that his wife have still not accepted Islam. He told me that he renovated an old Masjid of an area and make people come to pray. That Masjid didnt pray according to Jammat because people dont used to come there. Now he says more and more people are coming and he would have to renovate it again to make it bigger. MashaAllah. He invited me there to pray.

I had inquired about him and came to know that we share the same teacher. My old teacher reverted almost 300 people to Islam. Now he is no more. To Allah we belong to Allah we shall all return. I didnt tell him about this.

We further talked about Dawaah system in our area.
We both agree that we have got no proper Dawaah system here. He said he have given Dawaah to many of his relatives and Non-Muslim. He was strong enough to do that. He used to be powerful extremist before reverting. He said he would give full time Dawaah after his retirement. In Sha Allah.

He said they only talk about Dawaah but dont do anything practical. They just go to Jamaat for many many days. They dont even give Quran to a Non-Muslim who ask for studying it . They say that he would not treat it properly and they have not got orders to do so. Quran is available for free on internet for anyone who wants to study it.
He disagree with the Sunni and Tablighi system and said that he only believe in the Quran and the Hadiths (saying) of the Prophet Muhammad. I said I believe in the same.

Imaan is in the heart. Its not anywhere else where you can see it. Not even in the beard. Beard shows that you are a Man and an Intellectual. Beard have its own prestige dont waste it. But now people keep beard and do nothing progressing and think that its showing there Imaan.
You will never know how much Imaan anybody have. But Allah knows. He is closer to you than you think.

Nobody is a born Muslim. You didnt perform Salat the day you were born. You didnt even say Alhamdulilah. You were grown to be taught to become a Muslim by following Five Pillars of Islam. Sadly, but true, some of us werent taught this by their parents.

May we all stay Strong and United.
May peace be upon me and you my dear brother/sister.
